Sing a Song for Sixpence

Image

Glass separates the frost outside from the sun beaming in on this mid morning moment in Covent Garden.  Dreams are just beginning as the day is ahead of us and a few late market stalls are setting up.  Outside there are a few circus performers shuffling around a broken unicycle wondering what to do next.  Downstairs in one of the old London taverns a lady opera singer lifts our horizons with age old stanza.  I wonder which is lifting our mood, the sunshine beaming down through the ceiling or the sonorous reverberations of opera stirring from the basement.  It doesn’t matter.  Blue skies are above us thanks to the best example of glass ceiling I have seen.
