Sunshine Smiles Day
I was so thrilled to wake up to a bright shining award from a brilliant blogger, Upasna. The message of Upasna’s blog is ‘Live out loud’ which rings through the posts you can read here. A great interpretation of life through the writing is on offer and I love the description of Upasna as ‘magnetic to creative arts’. Check out the blog:

You need good boots in the South of England right now. Fail to prepare and you prepare to fail as flood barriers are still in place. Sunshine peaks through the sky this morning and lifts hope that change is coming. Sunshine, is also an award for bloggers whose blogs are full of life. I thank Upasna that my blog is being recognized in this genre.
- The rules for accepting the Sunshine Award are:
- Thank the person who nominated you and link back to their blog (which I’ve already done)
- List 11 facts about YOU! (see below)
- Nominate 10 other blogs to receive the award
- Announce the nominations to the nominee
11 Facts about me..
Hobbies – I love baking and I believe that I am an awesome cup cake decorator ( though I am not ).
Starbucks order – skinny hot chocolate with whipped cream on top (I enjoy the juxtaposition!)
Fave silly joke – “I used to be a trapeze artist but they let me go”
sunsets or sunrises? – watching a sunrise alone (everything feels so awake and all things are at that time, fully possible)
In another life – I would study geology and research fault line data
I admire… anyone who can draw. Anything. I struggle making a straight line without a ruler.
Favourite Artist – Toulouse Lautrec for being a misfit yet a self made man and also through his work creating a whole world
Favourite writer – Charles Dickens for documenting the social injustices of the day
Dogs or cats? Cats (I love the musical too!)
Favourite non alcoholic drink – iced peach tea
Something I ate to be polite – dried salted buffalo meat. It turned out to be deeee-licous.
There is a huge amount of sunshine, light and joy shining in these 10 blogs I nominate! I hope you get a chance to take a visit and enjoy their rich content

Thank you! Not sure why but I find it’s hard writing about yourself! There’s always a tricky balance between too much and too little information! 🙂

Lita, you are so kind! I enjoyed learning more about you. Bet you’re a great baker! As you can see, we’re not cat people. But it’s okay. We can all learn to enjoy our diversity, right? Ahh, you are a classic old soul for liking Mr. Dickens and M. Toulouse-Lautrec.
It is such an honor. Do give me a bit of time to post this as I’m traveling a lot in the next few days. Internet will be spotty…..

Of course. Enjoy the sunshine when you have some time! I love the humour of your blogs. It is phenomenal what you fit into your day. I am truly humbled and am gaining ideas how to manage time a bit better!
In my imagination yup I am a great baker lol! But no one comes back for seconds! ;-( I always blame the oven but cakes do not rise for me.
Happy days!!

I love baking as well, but I have to say I’m more of a dog person, though I haven’t owned either a cat or a dog. It was cool learning new things about you.

Thanks. Red velvet packet mix sponge is my next project. I have been adopted by a few neighbourhood cats. They definitely own the garden right now! Dogs are so loyal though and have such great personalities. I can see why they make great pets 😉

“Live out loud”, how cool is that? I’m thinking of making that the theme motto for this year!

Love that motto too (not mine, just celebrating it here too!). Says so much in just three words!!
